The update
According to TeluguCinema Desk, Chiranjeevi's film "Kaaka," directed by Bobby, is proceeding quickly with approximately 70 percent of its shooting finished. Production is aimed at wrapping up in December, keeping the project on schedule for a January 13, 2027, release during Sankranthi without any current signs of delay. With roughly three months remaining until that scheduled date, it is considered unlikely that another Chiranjeevi project will debut prior to "Kaaka."
Prior rumors circulating on social media and within film circles last month suggested that "Vishwambhara," a socio-fantasy movie directed by Vassisht and starring Chiranjeevi alongside Trisha and Ashika Ranganath, might launch before "Kaaka" and potentially push "Kaaka" out of the Sankranthi lineup.
Context & analysis
Instead, "Vishwambhara" is now reported to be looking at March 2027 as a more realistic timeframe, with the creators reportedly examining a debut around March 18 or an earlier date. This potential March schedule is considered significant because SS Rajamouli's large-scale project "Varanasi" is slated to debut on April 7, 2027, meaning a March release would provide "Vishwambhara" with an adequate theatrical window ahead of Rajamouli's film.
"Vishwambhara" features music by MM Keeravani. While March is surfacing as a prospective option following "Kaaka," the producers have not yet formally announced an official release date for the film.
