The update
Renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli has shared fresh insights into his highly anticipated project starring Mahesh Babu, which is tentatively titled “Varanasi.” In this upcoming cinematic spectacle, the leading actor portrays a contemporary character named Rudhra rooted in the holy city of Varanasi. Alongside the modern-day narrative, the movie features a pivotal sequence transporting the protagonist across a temporal divide into the ancient epoch of the Ramayana, where Mahesh Babu will embody Lord Rama.
The star-studded cast supporting this grand vision brings together several notable names from the film industry. Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been signed on to play the female lead, while Prithviraj Sukumaran is set to challenge the protagonist as the primary antagonist. Furthermore, veteran actor Prakash Raj will once again share the screen with Mahesh Babu by stepping into the role of his father, a dynamic familiar to audiences from their previous collaborations in hit films like “Dookudu” and “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.”
