The update
Filmy Focus reports that screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad has stated that the upcoming film Varanasi, directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu, will be released on April 7, 2027. Prasad reportedly confirmed the date while speaking at the Dad’s Little Friend event in response to an anchor's request for an update, asserting that the film will definitely arrive on that schedule.
The source notes that high-profile Indian films frequently experience release date alterations due to production delays and unfinished work. Because of this industry trend, expectations had previously included the possibility of a delay for Varanasi despite its high anticipation.
